Social Worker – Residential Family Assessment Centre

Leaders in Care are working alongside a small, supportive, therapeutic trauma-informed family assessment centre based in the Bournemouth area, for an experienced children's social worker to provide parenting assessments for parents who need additional support to care safely for their children.

Practice is based on the ParentAssess model, so experience using this previously is desirable.

In this role will lead residential parenting assessments within the centre, ensuring all work is evidence-based, transparent, and centred on the child’s welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver full ParentAssess parenting assessments
  • Observe and analyse family interactions within a trauma-informed framework
  • Coordinate assessment plans, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
  • Provide reflective supervision and guidance to residential keyworkers
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and good practice standards

For this role, you will require experience in child protection, court work, or family assessment is essential, along with the ability to produce clear, analytical, evidence-based reports.

The role suits a reflective and confident practitioner who values relationship-based practice, understands the impact of trauma, and is motivated to work within a small, supportive, and values-led service. Experience using ParentAssess is desirable but full training will be provided.

Beneits:

  • £35 per hour
  • Manageable caseloads within a trauma-informed, values-led culture
  • ParentAssess training and development opportunities
  • Regular reflective supervision and access to clinical consultation
  • Genuine focus on professional judgement and wellbeing
  • Opportunity to contribute to a developing service and influence best practice

As this is a statutory role, you do require a social work qualification & registration to Social Work England.
