Registered General Nurse (RGN) Elderly / EMI Nursing Home South Yorkshire / Barnsley Area £20.80 per hour | Paid Breaks | 36 hours per week We are recruiting a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with experience in elderly and dementia (EMI) care to join a friendly, well-established 30-bed nursing home located close to the Barnsley area in Yorkshire.
This is a permanent role offering long day shifts (7am–7pm), paid breaks, and a supportive working environment with a stable staff team.
The Role
Providing high-quality nursing care to residents with complex needs and dementia
Leading and supervising care staff on shift
Administering medication safely and in line with NMC guidelines
Developing and reviewing person-centred care plans
Carrying out clinical assessments and responding to changes in residents’ conditions
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
Liaising with GPs, families, and other healthcare professionals
Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and best practice
Required Clinical Skills & Experience
Valid NMC registration (RGN)
Previous experience in a nursing home or elderly care setting
Strong medication management and MAR chart knowledge
Experience with:
Dementia / EMI care
Pressure area care and wound management
Catheter care
PEG feeding (desirable)
End-of-life / palliative care
Confident clinical decision-making and leadership skills
A compassionate, patient-centred approach
