We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Nurse to join the team at a well-regarded nursing home in Chorley, providing high-quality general and dementia nursing care. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled nurse with strong leadership abilities and a passion for delivering exceptional care to residents, including those with complex dementia needs.
As Lead Nurse / Team Leader, you will play a vital role in the daily management of nursing care across both the general and dementia care units. You will be responsible for supervising a team of nurses and care staff, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care is always delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and hands-on support to nursing and care teams.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily care activities across both general and dementia units.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support staff performance and development.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of clinical practice in line with current regulations and internal policies.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, and colleagues to foster a positive and respectful environment.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing resident care and outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation at all times.

About You
  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with active NMC pin.
  • Demonstrable experience in both general and dementia nursing.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Deep understanding of dementia care practices and managing residents with complex needs.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise in a busy environment.

Job Specifics
Contract Type: Full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract (with potential for extension or permanent role)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shifts: Day Shifts (8am–8pm)
Salary: £20.36 per hour + Enhanced Overtime (£28+ per hour)
