We’re looking for a compassionate, experienced, and confident Deputy Nursing Home Manager to join a well-established care team in Port Talbot, South Wales. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide strong clinical leadership and ensure high standards of nursing and personal care are delivered consistently. You’ll be supporting residents with a range of complex and age-related health needs, and working closely with the Home Manager to lead the team, uphold compliance, and drive continuous improvement in care quality.
Whether covering for the Home Manager or overseeing day-to-day operations on the floor, you’ll lead by example—offering clinical guidance, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring person-centred care is at the heart of everything you do.
Who We’re Looking For We welcome applications from candidates who are either:
An experienced Deputy Manager within an elderly care or nursing home environment OR
An experienced Ward Manager (or similar clinical leadership role) with a strong background in elderly care, either in a care home or hospital setting
In addition, you must have:
A valid NMC PIN and current registration as a Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN)
Proven experience in managing or overseeing care for older people, ideally in a residential or nursing home setting
A deep understanding of CQC regulations, person-centred care planning, and safeguarding responsibilities
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others
Confidence in making clinical decisions, leading audits, and ensuring best practice is followed across the service

Hourly rate of circa £23 - £24+ph – negotiable on experience
Annual salary of circa £54,000

The ideal Deputy Nurse Manager will have:
Proven clinical experience in a nursing home environment as Clinical Lead, Deputy, or Home Manager
Active NMC pin – RGN or RMN
Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to create and maintain accurate care plans and medication records.
Flexibility to cover out of hours when needed.
Be able to work 44 hours per week, including some weekend working
