Small, values-led provider | Genuine autonomy from day one | Help build a home properly | Long-term, ethical focus
If you’re an experienced Deputy Children’s Home Manager looking to step away from corporate care and be part of building a service with integrity, this role offers a rare opportunity to do just that. You’ll support the development of a small specialist EBD children’s home that will not open until the right leadership team is in place, giving you the chance to help shape the service from the very beginning.
This Deputy Children’s Home Manager role is about helping to create something meaningful, not inheriting problems. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to establish culture, systems, and practice properly, with decisions guided by children’s needs rather than occupancy targets or head office pressure.
Package & Benefits
• Salary £40,000–£45,000 per annum.
• 28 days annual leave, increasing to 31 days after three years’ service.
• Bank holidays included. • Flexible working once the home is established.
• Competitive employee benefits package.
• Ongoing guidance and support from an experienced Responsible Individual and Registered Manager.
About the Company
You’ll be joining a small, family-owned children’s care provider with a strong ethical focus. The organisation is hands-on, values-led, and committed to building high-quality homes slowly and safely, with long-term outcomes for children at the centre of every decision.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Registered Manager with the registration and opening of a new EBD children’s home.
• Help recruit, develop, and lead a values-aligned care team.
• Embed trauma-informed, relationship-based practice across the service.
• Support the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and outcomes.
About You
• Experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager within children’s residential care.
• Proven experience working with EBD or trauma-informed practice.
• Good understanding of Ofsted regulations and children’s home standards.
• Passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
