The Role:

As a Community Nurse, you will provide high-quality, home-based care to patients undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis (PD), including both adults and children. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, effective treatment in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support patients with Automated and Manual Peritoneal Dialysis

  • Connect and disconnect PD machines during home visits

  • Administer IV medications and monitor patient observations (e.g., blood pressure, weight)

  • Perform catheter site care and dressing changes

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, manage stock and waste

  • Communicate with hospital PD units when clinical advice or intervention is needed

  • Provide care to both adult and paediatric patients in their own homes


About You:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Valid NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse or Children’s Nurse

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-registration experience

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Essex

  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

  • Previous community experience is desirable but not essential

Working Pattern:

  • No night shifts

  • 5-day working week

  • Shifts start at either 7:00am or 1:00pm
