Looking for a secure leadership role where safeguarding excellence truly matters?

This is an exciting opportunity to step into an Adult Safeguarding Lead position within a supportive and forward-thinking Adult Services directorate. You’ll join an authority that genuinely values professional judgment, reflective practice, and work–life balance - with hybrid working available up to two days per week and flexibility built around trust, not micromanagement.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping safeguarding practice across the service, providing expert leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure vulnerable adults are protected and supported effectively. This is a role where your experience, voice, and values will be respected.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary between £42,000 and £47,000
  • Hybrid working and compressed hours to fit around your life
  • Generous annual leave and pension scheme
  • Genuine investment in leadership development and CPD
  • Strong focus on staff wellbeing and reflective supervision

Your Role as Adult Safeguarding Lead

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for adult safeguarding across the service
  • Lead on complex safeguarding concerns, including high-risk and multi-agency cases
  • Offer expert advice, guidance, and challenge to practitioners and managers
  • Ensure safeguarding practice aligns with legislation, policy, and best practice
  • Chair and contribute to safeguarding meetings, panels, and reviews

This is a varied, influential role where you’ll balance hands-on safeguarding oversight with leadership, mentoring, and service development — making a real and lasting impact.

About You

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with the appropriate professional body
  • Strong experience within adult safeguarding, including complex cases
  • Confident decision-maker with a calm, compassionate leadership style
  • Passionate about quality, learning, and protecting adults at risk

If you’re looking for a role where safeguarding leadership is valued and supported - not stretched thin - we’d love to talk.
