Qualified Social Worker – Family Help Pilot Team

South Coast | £42 per hour + £90 weekly expenses
Hybrid working – ideally 3 days on-site, with flexibility negotiable

Leaders in Care are representing a forward-thinking local authority on the South Coast to recruit a Qualified Social Worker for an exciting new Family Help Pilot Team.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a dedicated team established to test, evaluate and shape new approaches to supporting children and families—before they are introduced more widely across the service.

The Role

You’ll join a collaborative pilot team working alongside AQFHP colleagues to develop a progressive, family-led model of support. Your work will directly influence the future design and delivery of Family Help services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality direct work with children, young people and families. Testing integrated, strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to practice.
  • Supporting the development of new assessment and care-planning pathways.
  • Trialling the Lead Professional role and innovative supervision arrangements.
  • Contributing to reflective practice, co-design sessions and shared learning.
  • Capturing insight from the pilot to support evaluation and wider service implementation.
  • Promoting early intervention, relationship-based practice and family-led solutions.

About You

You will be a qualified and registered Social Worker with experience supporting children and families. You will be comfortable working in an evolving environment and motivated by the opportunity to help create meaningful, sustainable change.

You will bring:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
  • Relevant experience within Children’s Services, Family Help, Early Help or safeguarding.
  • A commitment to strengths-based, relational and trauma-informed practice.
  • The creativity and adaptability to test new systems, pathways and ways of working.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and families.

What’s on Offer

  • £42 per hour £90 weekly expenses
  • Hybrid working, with three office-based days preferred—although this can be discussed.
  • The chance to contribute to an innovative service pilot with real influence over future practice.
  • A reflective and supportive working environment focused on learning and development.
