Social Worker - Early Help & Assessment

South Wales | £38 per hour | Flexible Working | Non-Caseholding | Weekly Payroll | Long-Term Contract

We’re recruiting an experienced Community Care Social Worker for a progressive Early Help & Assessment Service in South Wales.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a practitioner seeking flexible working, competitive weekly pay, and the chance to make a meaningful difference to children and families. The location is commutable from areas of England, making it well suited to cross-border candidates.

The role

You’ll work within a supportive, forward-thinking team, delivering high-quality early help and assessment work to improve outcomes and ensure children are safeguarded.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied caseload of children and families
• Completing robust assessments, plans and court-quality reports
• Delivering effective early help interventions
• Working collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners
• Identifying, responding to, and managing safeguarding concerns
• Supporting families to achieve sustainable, positive change

About you

To be considered, you’ll need:

• A recognised Social Work qualification
• Active registration with Social Care Wales
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
• Experience supporting children and families with complex needs
• Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
