• Level 2 – Band 10: Starting salary of £45,529
• Level 3 – Band 11: Starting salary of £49,817
  Pro rata for part-time colleagues.

Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking to make a meaningful difference for children and young people with disabilities and their families?

We’re recruiting Children’s Social Workers at Level 2 and Level 3 to join a specialist Children With Disabilities Team within a supportive local authority on the South Coast.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of disabilities and additional needs, helping to ensure they are safe, supported and able to achieve the best possible outcomes. You’ll build positive relationships with families, carers and partner agencies, delivering high-quality, strengths-based statutory Social Work.

The role

You’ll manage a varied caseload, supporting children and young people with disabilities across Child in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care pathways.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing thorough assessments of children’s needs, risks and strengths
• Managing complex safeguarding concerns and statutory casework
• Developing and reviewing child-centred plans that promote safety, wellbeing and independence
• Working closely with parents, carers, schools, health professionals and other partner agencies
• Supporting children and families through periods of significant change or challenge
• Providing clear analysis, professional recommendations and effective case direction
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues and students at Level 3
• Contributing to a collaborative, reflective and inclusive team culture

About you

To be successful, you’ll bring:

• Significant frontline safeguarding Social Work experience
• Experience of managing complex children’s statutory casework
• Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills
• The confidence to work constructively with families and offer professional challenge where needed
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
• A genuine commitment to promoting the rights, voice and outcomes of children with disabilities
• Experience supporting colleagues or students, or willingness to undertake Practice Education training
• Social Work England registration
• The ability to travel across the local area
