Salary:

• Level 2 – Band 10: Starting salary of £45,529
• Level 3 – Band 11: Starting salary of £49,817
  Pro rata for part-time colleagues.

Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking for a rewarding statutory role where you can make a difference from the very first referral?

We’re recruiting Children’s Social Workers at Level 2 and Level 3 to join a supportive Assessment Team in a well-established local authority on the South Coast. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic frontline service, completing high-quality assessments and helping children, young people and families access the right support at the right time.

The role

As part of the Assessment Team, you’ll manage work from referral through to closure, step-down or transfer. You’ll undertake timely, child-focused assessments, work closely with families and professional networks, and make sound decisions that safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing referrals and complex safeguarding concerns
• Undertaking initial single assessments and continuous assessments
• Leading and contributing to family network meetings
• Completing robust analysis, risk assessments and clear recommendations
• Making decisions on case closure, step-down or transfer to longer-term services
• Working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure coordinated support
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues and students, particularly at Level 3

About you

You’ll be a confident and resilient Social Worker with:

• Significant frontline safeguarding Social Work experience
• Experience managing complex referrals and statutory children’s casework
• Strong assessment, analysis and decision-making skills
• The ability to build effective relationships while offering professional challenge
• Excellent conflict-resolution and communication skills
• A commitment to continuous professional development
• Experience supporting colleagues or students, or an interest in undertaking Practice Education training
• Social Work England registration
• The ability to travel across the local area
