Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: Up to £105,000, depending on experience.
Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Working pattern: Predominantly site-based and clinic-based appointments.

An established, clinician-led occupational health provider is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Physician to join its growing team.

The organisation supports employers across specialist, safety-critical industries including oil and gas, offshore energy, renewables, engineering, construction, ports and maritime. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Health Physician who enjoys practical, patient-facing clinical work and supporting the health and wellbeing of employees in operational environments.

The role.

You will deliver a high-quality occupational health service through predominantly on-site and clinic-based appointments, with travel to client locations as required. The role will involve managing a varied caseload, including management referrals, fitness-for-work assessments, sickness absence advice, health surveillance and safety-critical medicals.

You will work closely with occupational health nurses, technicians, client HR teams and operational managers, providing clear, practical and evidence-based advice that supports employee wellbeing, workplace safety and business needs.

Key responsibilities.

• Undertake face-to-face occupational health consultations at client sites and clinics.
• Provide advice on fitness for work, sickness absence, rehabilitation and workplace adjustments.
• Manage health-surveillance escalations and support surveillance programmes.
• Assess employees working in safety-critical, industrial, offshore and renewable-energy settings.
• Deliver or support industry-specific medicals, including offshore and renewable-energy assessments where appropriately qualified.
• Produce clear, robust and impartial occupational health reports.
• Build effective relationships with client stakeholders and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, peer review and continuous service improvement.
• Travel to client locations across the UK when required.

About you.

• GMC-registered Doctor with a current UK Licence to Practise.
• Diploma in Occupational Medicine, AFOM or MFOM.
• Previous experience working as an Occupational Health Physician.
• Strong experience of management referrals, case management and corporate occupational health delivery.
• Experience within oil and gas, offshore, energy, renewables, engineering, construction or other safety-critical sectors would be advantageous.
• OEUK registration or oil and gas medical examiner qualification would be beneficial.
• Experience in health surveillance, including HAVS, lead and asbestos-related work, would be highly desirable.
• Excellent report-writing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable working independently in clinic and client-site environments.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
