Nursing Home Manager – Chesterfield, Derbyshire

We are recruiting an experienced Care Home Manager to lead a well-established 35-bed elderly care home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

The home provides specialist residential, dementia and nursing care, and requires a confident, commercially aware leader who can maintain high standards of care while delivering strong operational performance.

Your Role as Nursing Home Manager

As Care Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the leadership, quality, compliance and commercial performance of the home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the 35-bed care home.
  • Maintaining high standards of person-centred care and resident experience.
  • Ensuring full compliance with CQC regulations and regulatory requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement across quality, care and operational performance.
  • Recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining a high-performing care team.
  • Providing visible and supportive leadership to colleagues across the home.
  • Managing staffing levels, rotas, agency usage and workforce costs effectively.
  • Taking responsibility for budgets and overall financial performance.
  • Supporting occupancy and building the home's reputation within the local community.
  • Developing strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced care home leader with a strong understanding of quality, compliance, people management and operational performance.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Care Home Manager, Registered Manager, Nursing Home Manager or senior care home leader.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, compliance and quality frameworks.
  • A track record of maintaining or improving Good or Outstanding CQC standards.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or an equivalent management qualification.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

A nursing qualification with an active NMC PIN would be advantageous, although this is not essential for the position.
