Are you an experienced Deputy Care Home Manager or Deputy Residential Home Manager looking for your next opportunity in Liverpool?

We are working with an established elderly care provider to recruit a non-clinical Deputy Home Manager for a large, well-established residential and dementia care home in the Liverpool area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager who enjoys being visible on the floor, supporting care teams and working closely with the Home Manager to maintain high standards of care, compliance and resident experience.

This is a non-nursing position and does not require an NMC PIN.

The Deputy Home Manager Role

Working alongside the Home Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership and operation of the care home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Home Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home
  • Leading, motivating and developing a large care team
  • Maintaining high standards of person-centred residential and dementia care
  • Supporting care planning, assessments and resident reviews
  • Ensuring the home operates in line with CQC regulations and internal quality standards
  • Supporting safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and DoLS processes
  • Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and external professionals
  • Supporting staff supervision, performance management and development
  • Promoting a positive, supportive and accountable culture throughout the home
  • Deputising for the Home Manager when required

What We're Looking For

We would particularly like to hear from experienced Deputy Managers working within residential care homes for older people.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Care Home Manager, Deputy Residential Home Manager or Senior Care Manager
  • Experience working within an elderly residential or dementia care setting
  • Experience of supporting the management of a larger care home would be advantageous
  • A strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, DoLS and the Mental Capacity Act
  • A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or be working towards/relevant equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills
  • Confidence supporting care planning, audits, compliance and quality
  • A compassionate and resident-focused leadership style

You do not need to be a Registered Nurse for this position.
