As a Senior Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse (PICU), you will:

• Take charge of the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate holistic care plans for children.
• Mentor and act as a role model for junior and student nurses.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Foster strong relationships with children and their families.
• Ensure excellent clinical governance and participate in audits.
• Supervise and assess students, and lead shifts as needed.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse (PICU) will have:

• NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support.
• Post Graduate experience in a PICU setting.
• Understanding of Safeguarding issues.
• Teaching and mentoring experience (desirable).
• Completion of a PICU Course equivalent to 60 credits.
• Excellent clinical governance and audit experience.
• Experience in supervising, assessing students, and shift leading (desirable).
