As a Charge Nurse, you will:

  • Oversee the care of residents in your area of the care home.
  • Manage the home in the absence of the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager.
  • Follow up on resident visits related to ill health.
  • Administer prescribed medicines.
  • Maintain records to meet statutory legal requirements.
  • Mentor and support colleagues and students.
  • Advocate and deliver person-centred care.
  • Recognise and report signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect.

The ideal Charge Nurse will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a valid Pin number.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Deliver person-centred care.
  • Recognise and report signs of abuse, harm, or neglect.
  • Attend safeguarding training and seek appropriate advice when needed.
