As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will:

  • Support the Operations Manager/Responsible Individual and deputise in their absence.
  • Supervise and appraise Registered Managers.
  • Participate in the recruitment and induction of new team members.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and mentoring to a team of Registered Managers and other staff.
  • Conduct quality audits within the homes.
  • Respond to safeguarding events or staff performance issues.
  • Assist in setting up new homes.
  • Deliver training courses and workshops to develop team knowledge and skills.
  • Step in to provide management support when needed.

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Operations Manager role will have:

  • Level 5 qualification in leadership and management in residential childcare (or equivalent).
  • At least three years’ experience working with young people in the last five years.
  • At least two years’ experience in a supervisory role with young people in the last five years.
  • Strong track record with Ofsted (good or above) and excellent outcomes for children and young people.
  • Excellent understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding practices.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car for work use with business insurance.
